Chemical Engineering

(20 semester hours)

The objective of this program is to expand the educational opportunities of Miami students into the traditional discipline of chemical engineering. The minor provides an understanding of basic chemical engineering principles, concepts, and methodologies and how they are applied to the design and performance analysis of industrial processes.

A minimum 2.0 g.p.a. is required for all courses in this minor. Twenty semester hours beyond prerequisite courses in chemistry, math, and physics are required, and courses must be taken for a grade (not credit/no-credit). Students planning to take this minor should consult with the chief departmental adviser. This minor is not available to majors in Paper Science and Engineering or Chemical Engineering.
