Welcome to Miami University, Oxford, OhioWe hope you enjoy your visit to our Oxford campus, widely regarded as one of the most beautiful in the country. The campus spreads over 1,100 acres, with tree-shaded lawns bordered by modified Georgian-style buildings. Established in 1809, Miami is the seventh-oldest state-assisted university in the nation and takes its name from the tribe that once inhabited the area known as Ohio's Miami Valley.

We take great pride in our reputation as an excellent value in higher education. Named one of the original eight "Public Ivys" for academic quality and collegiate atmosphere, Miami is regularly cited by colleges guides such as Fiske, Kaplan, Newsweek, and U.S.News & World Report. Our identification as a "hidden treasure" also reflects our high graduation rates, numerous research opportunities, and the personal attention our students receive.
