- In a new ranking for best undergraduate teaching, U.S.News & World Report lists Miami eighth among the nation's top universities in the 2010 edition of America's Best Colleges.
- Noting a "picture perfect campus and high-caliber student body," the Fiske Guide to Colleges 2010 distinguishes Miami as a school that "effectively combines a wide range of academic programs with the personal attention ordinarily found only at much smaller institutions."
- Miami University is recognized as one of the nation's best undergraduate institutions for 2010, according to the Princeton Review's annual list. In surveys gathered from Miami students, our campus is identified as offering a "great college experience," with professors who are "extremely personable."
- According to The Center for College Affordability & Productivity (CCAP)/Forbes.com's first ranking of America's Best Colleges, Miami ranks as the top public university in Ohio for a quality education based on student satisfaction, affordability, and success. (2008)
- Once again, Miami University has been identified as a best value in Kiplinger's annual list of the "100 Best Values in Public Colleges." (2009) Miami has appeared as a top 100 value every year since the first list was published in 1998.
- Identifying the most noteworthy colleges in both the United States and Canada, the 2007 edition of The Insider's Guide to the Colleges describes Miami as a Public Ivy that "takes education seriously."
- Barron's Best Buys in College Education 2007 says many people think of Miami when they "look for a public university with the academic offerings and collegiate life-styles of many of the more prestigious private institutions."
- Miami was named one of 30 schools in the United States that offers "an education comparable to that at Ivy League universities at a fraction of the price" in the book The Public Ivies: America's Flagship Universities.
- The Peace Corps' latest Top 25 list, which recognizes colleges and universities that have produced the most Peace Corp volunteers, ranks Miami seventh among medium-sized schools, with 809 of our alumni having served since the organization's founding in 1961. (2009)

High Academic Standards
- In BusinessWeek magazine's latest ranking of undergraduate business programs, Miami's Farmer School of Business appears among the nation's top five percent, ranking sixth among public universities and colleges. (2009)
- In the 2010 edition of America's Best Colleges, U.S. News ranks Miami's engineering program 26th in the nation in the category of "Best Undergraduate Engineering Programs where the highest degree is a bachelor's or master's."
- In a 2009 Institute for International Education report on the number of students studying abroad, Miami remains among the top universities in the nation, ranking 23rd among comparable universities in undergraduate participation. The latest figures show 40 percent of Miami students study abroad before they graduate.
- Miami's Interior Design program is ranked ninth in the nation, according to the 2009 edition of "America's Best Architecture & Design Schools" published by DesignIntelligence magazine. This annual report is considered the definitive school ranking as determined by design firms that hire recent college graduates.
- Survey results released by Entrepreneur magazine and The Princeton Review show the Miami University Institute for Entrepreneurship ranks 15th among the nation's undergraduate entrepreneurship programs. (2009)
- Once again, the latest data on student retention shows that nearly 90 percent of first-year students return for their sophomore year. (2008)
- According to the latest NCAA data, Miami's graduation rates are among the highest nationally, ninth among NCAA Division I public universities (81 percent) and first in Ohio.
- Of all qualified students applying to medical school, 64 percent of Miami students are accepted, compared to 47 percent nationally. The figure rises to 90 percent for Miami students who earn a 3.4 g.p.a. and score at least average on the MCAT. (2009)
- Because our academic reputation is a magnet for employers, Miami sponsors one of the largest collegiate career fairs in the country. Compared with on-campus recruitment programs at other universities our size, nearly twice as many employers recruit at Miami, and four times as many on-campus interviews are conducted. (2008)
- In a recent report of the National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE) assessing the extent to which students engage in "educationally effective" activities, scores reflecting the academic experiences of Miami first-year students and seniors were higher than those of students at regional and national peer universities. - Miami's undergraduate and master's degree programs in accountancy were ranked 11th and 18th in the nation, respectively, by Public Accounting Report. The rankings climb to third and fifth, respectively, among universities without a doctoral program. (2007)
- Miami is among a select group of universities in the nation that have produced a Rhodes Scholar, a Truman Scholar, and a Goldwater Scholar in the same academic year. Other schools in this select group are Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Duke, Stanford, Syracuse, and the University of Washington.
Extracurricular Engagement
- According to Eduventures, a research and assessment consortium, Miami students rank near the very top among the comparative institutions nationally in leadership program participation. Seventy percent of Miami students said they engage in these programs, compared to 55% at the benchmark institutions. (2008)
- In 2009, Miami placed 36th among 510 schools competing in RecycleMania, an intercollegiate recycling contest Miami co-founded in 2001.
- For the eighth time in the past 10 years, Miami's Gamma Gamma chapter of Pi Sigma Epsilon, a national marketing fraternity, was named top chapter. (2008)
- Miami's speech team members won four state titles at the Ohio Forensics Association State Championship in February 2008. Additionally, results from both the American Forensics Association and the National Forensics Association show that since 1999, Miami's speech team has won 21 national championship titlesmore than any other university in the country.
- Miami's James Lewis Family Mock Trial Program took third place in the 2008 Mock Trial National Championship Tournament hosted in Minneapolis April 46. Miami's team has captured 13 regional championships in 14 years and 10 top-15 finishes nationally.
First-Rate Facilities
- Miami has completed a number of new facilities in recent years, including an engineering building and the Goggin Ice Center. A new business school facility, completed in 2009, is Miami's first LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified building.
- In the latest student survey, 97 percent of students reported they were satisfied or very satisfied with university cleanliness of public spaces in Miami's residence halls and the quality of food and services. (2008)
- Since 2004, Miami University's Food Service has received 33 awards in national dining competitions, with Miami winning more first-place awards (17) than any other university in North America.
- Wireless computing capabilities (802.11g) are available in all buildings on all Miami campuses as well as many "green spaces" located in common areas.
- Eighty percent of Miami's faculty use the online course management system Blackboard, giving students access to bulletin boards, chat rooms, syllabi, grades, and other course materials. (2008)
- In the latest survey assessing the quality of service and facilities among Ohio university libraries, Miami ranked among the leaders in all benchmarked areas.
