AROUND THE CAMPUS

The 2007 WCP senior projects were presented in Leonard Theatre, April 24-26. This coincided with the WCAA board of trustee meetings, enabling trustees to attend both the presentations and the signing ceremony afterward in Peabody parlor. Barbara Williamson Wentz '68, Chair of the Connections Committee, offers congratulations to all the seniors, citing especially Jessica Ruff's service on that committee.

A favorite spring rite is the annual "From Shore to Slimy Shore" race across the Duck Pond. This year one of the pair of swans looked on while the other remained on her nest.
Believe it or not, all five "crafts" reached the other side!

On the Friday before graduation, an informal reception is held at Patterson Place, and the WCP senior selected by her classmates as best representing the Western spirit will have her name embroidered on Betty Ann Koons Miller's 1932 academic gown. This year Betty Sipe Gerber '52 presented the gown to Jessica Ruff.
Betty bestowed another Western honor at graduation: the Wallace Award, which recognizes outstanding contribution to the collaborative nature of the senior project workshop. The 2007 winner is Kara Love!
