WITH THE WCAA

At the April board meeting, trustees were treated to a presentation by Miami theatre majors Lindsey Barlag and Amanda Dunne. With help from the WCAA, the two students had traveled to China to share their research on Pearl Buck with Dr. You Fei, a film director at the Beijing Broadcast Institute who is making a documentary on Buck's life and work.

  As is customary at the spring meeting, scholarship recipients were invited to lunch with trustees on Saturday. WCAA president Patricia Pinkowski '70 welcomed David Keitges, Miami's director of international education services, who praised the success of Miami's international programs. After lunch Bea Low Notley '42, chair of the WCAA Scholarship Committee, introduced each of the students, who talked about their studies and shared a little of their plans for the future.
