WITH THE WCAA
Following our tradition of sponsoring an event from the Miami University Performing Arts Series, we will present The Princely Players on Thursday, January 19, 2006, at 7:30 p.m. in Hall Auditorium. The Western Pre-performance Reception will be held in the Hall Green Room at 7:00. (Reservations are required by January 13. Contact the WCAA office: 513-529-4400 or wcaa@muohio.edu) The eight-person vocal ensemble invites you to "come with us on a musical odyssey exploring the Civil Rights movement ... travel through the folk music landscape ... experience descant and call-and-response singing which describe the struggles and joys along the road to human dignity and equality." The concert will be incorporated into a new course to be taught next semester: The History, Rhetoric and Philosophy of the Modern Civil Rights Movement.
 


Following our tradition of hosting an "office party" every holiday season, the Patterson Place staff entertained 13 WCAA scholarship recipients Friday afternoon, December 9, during final exam week. Refreshments were served and the guests were presented with gift bags containing snacks appropriate for study breaks and selected items from the Western Gift Shop.
