WITH THE WCAA

Scholarships have been a main priority of the board of trustees since the inception of the WCAA, Inc. Their first act was to establish an International Student Scholarship. The popular Peabody Scholarships for non-traditional students followed soon after, and in 1986 the Association awarded what was then the only 4-year, full-ride, merit-based scholarship at Miami. Today, endowments and annual giving fund these plus a variety of multicultural scholarships for foreign students, U.S. residents, and international exchange students. At weekend board meetings in Oxford, everyone in attendance is called upon to read applications -- an enlightening, often moving, and always rewarding experience. The highlight of these weekends is unquestionably lunch at the Lodge with many of our outstanding scholars as our guests.
