ON
THE RECORD |
Call
it folk art primitive. At some shows they're listed as "folk
artists," at others they're "American primitive artists."
Whether it’s their watercolors or carved wood figures you’re
looking at, the whimsical work of Paige and Larry Koosed will
bring a smile to your face. At Western, Paige Robertson '73
studied art with Robert Coon and Alex McKibbin, but hadn’t
settled on art as a career. She went to work as a cocktail
waitress to help put husband Larry through graduate school at the
University of Washington. But when his Asian studies didn’t lead
to gainful employment, they pooled their talents and went to work
to see what they could create at home and are now full time
artists . Paige
and Larry have two daughters. Ann is a
lawyer in Columbus, IN. Erin is graduating from Bowling
Green in May. When
they are not on the road exhibiting pieces like "Large Stone
House," "She Loves Me?," "The
Party-Goers," and "Goat of Many Colors," they
are at home in Perrysburg, Ohio, where they can be contacted at koosed@hotmail.com.
