Following on the heels of Women's History Month (March), WCMA Archivist Jacky Johnson scheduled a panel presentation, "Women’s Colleges -- A Good Idea?," April 1 on the Miami campus. Comprised of four Western College alumnae, a Western Program student, and a Miami graduate student, the audience was treated to a panel presentation about their personal educational experiences and group discussion on the pro's and con's of single-sex education. Jacky gave a brief history of Western College and WCAA Director Judy Waldron introduced the members of the panel and moderator, Dr. Cheryl Johnson, MU Director of the Women Studies Program and Associate Professor English. The event was sponsored by the WCAA, Miami University Libraries, Women's Studies Program, and the Western College Memorial Archives.  A videotape of the program will be viewable on the archives webpage.
