Reunion '05 ― Take Another Look Back ...
Then Look Ahead
A great time was had by all and is sure
to be repeated next year!
Friday night we mixed up classes from '39 to '05, comparing memories in a
potpourri of table talk. After dinner, DJ Toad had everyone groovin' to music
from seven decades.
Saturday began early with a bird walk and concluded late with the elegant
banquet, highlighted by tributes and toasts – most notably from the 50th and
25th anniversary classes. Next year, '56 and '81 will be in the spotlight ...
but you can do the math. Wonder who will win the Peabody Cup for best
attendance?
Sunday morning old friends and new came together in Kumler Chapel, listened to
the choir's
rendition of "Simple Gifts," heard speaker Barbara Knuth's
inspiring message, "Environmental Challenges ... Interdisciplinary
Solutions," and joined hands in a huge circle to sing "Will the Circle
Be Unbroken." We're working on another compelling theme for '06,
but count on this: The circle will be unbroken!
Meanwhile, the reviews are in. Here's
what some attendees are saying:

- The weekend was awesome. I loved meeting
all the Western College Program students. We really "melded."
They seem to love our history and I love their enthusiasm, intelligence, and
the fantastic things they are doing. They are making us proud to all
be "Westerners"! Barbara
