| WHAT'S
NEW AT THE MIAMI UNIVERSITY ALUMNI ASSOCIATION |
|
The Miami
University Alumni Association is mourning the passing of Ken
Burke `70, former vice president for university relations, and
John
Pont `52, a pillar of Miami's Cradle of Coaches who served
as head football coach at Miami, Northwestern, and Indiana. I hope you will join me in keeping their families in your thoughts and prayers.
Football season will be here in no time, and your Miami University
Alumni Association will be there for all six home games and
special road tailgating events at Michigan (Sept. 6) and Cincinnati
(Sept. 20).
Details for the road events are being finalized and will be
available here soon.
For the Michigan game, plan on the tailgate event beginning
two-and-a-half hours before kickoff on the University of Michigan
Golf Course, near the stadium. Hotel rooms are being held under
the Alumni Association name at the Four Points Sheraton in Ann
Arbor. For reservations, call 734-996-0600 and ask for rooms
in the Miami University Alumni Association block.
If you were unable to return to Oxford for Alumni Weekend, I
encourage you to visit our photo
gallery to see what you missed. Now is the time to begin
planning for next year. The Bicentennial Alumni Weekend will
be extraordinary, and we want you to be a part of it all.
If you would like to organize a group reunion for next year,
we are here to help. From communication to event planning, we
will work with you to make your reunion experience everything
you want it to be. Contact Sue
Harris to start your planning today!
