Those of you who are "Miami Mergers" should soon be receiving your annual Valentine from the Alumni Association. If you do not receive yours, please let us know so that we can update your records. If you've recently "merged", let us know and we will add you to our list of Mergers. This year we've added a "Merger" page to our web site, where you can find blogs from fellow alumni. Visit our Merger page, and share your merger story as well.
I also encourage you to visit our Student Diaries page, where Miami senior Stephany from Northwood, Ohio, is keeping us up-to-date on the life of a Miami senior in her final semester in Oxford. This blog is fun reading, and Stephany is sharing pictures as well.
As you look at the stories below you can see that much is happening at Miami - it's an exciting time on campus. I hope you will consider joining us this summer for Reunion Weekend, and experience for yourself the excitement. You don't need to wait for a special reunion. Call your Miami friends and make plans to meet in Oxford.

Western College Program to join Arts and Science
Miami's School of Interdisciplinary Studies, commonly known as the Western College Program, will become a program in the College of Arts and Science in July 2008, university officials announced Jan. 22.
Edun LIVE partners with Farmer School of Business for social entrepreneurship business launch
The Center for Social Entrepreneurship in the Farmer School of Business Jan. 10 officially launched edun LIVE on Campus, a new student-run business that will create partnerships between the socially conscious clothing brand, edun LIVE, and other colleges throughout the country interested in selling the edun LIVE label to help drive trade with Africa.
Alums put MU on top 25 Peace Corps list
Miami is tied at No. 12 on the Peace Corps' top 25 list for medium-sized schools with 34 alumni currently serving as volunteers. Since the Peace Corps' inception in 1961, 766 Miami alumni have joined the ranks, making the university the No. 43 producer of volunteers for all time.
Miami again called 'Best Value'
The February issue of Kiplinger's Personal Finance magazine includes its annual list of ?100 Best Values in Public Colleges," ranking Miami as the top bargain in Ohio and 38th nationally.
Two professors honored with teaching award
Miami's most prestigious teaching award was presented at fall commencement Dec. 15.
Sen. Mike DeWine to teach at Miami
Former Sen. Mike DeWine, who represented Ohio in the U.S. Senate from 1995 to 2007, will teach part time at Miami this spring. DeWine is a 1969 Miami graduate.
Trustees hear plan to personalize learning in large classes
Miami's board of trustees Dec. 8 heard of a plan to bring Miami's best teaching practices to its most populated classes: The TOP 25 Project encourages faculty in the 25 highest-enrolled courses to submit proposals for learning models that will be student-centered, encourage critical thinking and bring innovative approaches to learning.
New director of admission named
Laurie Koehler, senior associate director for recruitment in the undergraduate admissions office at Cornell University, will begin as Miami's director of admission March 19.
