WHAT'S NEW AT THE MIAMI UNIVERSITY ALUMNI ASSOCIATION
Celebrate Miami!
On August 21, Miami's entering class of 2010 will be welcomed into the Miami family during Convocation. All first-year students will gather at the Hub, passing first through Upham Arch and sharing just a little of Miami's history. Following a brief welcome from student body president Brian Alexander and university president David Hodge, the class will be led by bagpipers and the Miami Marching Band drum line between Stoddard and Elliott Halls - Miami's two oldest buildings - and down Tallawanda to Millett Hall, where the formal portion of convocation continues. Along the way, students, faculty, alumni and community members are encouraged to welcome our newest Miamians.
If you are in the area that day, I encourage you to come by and share in this event. The sounds and sites of this event are truly something to experience. A few images from last year can be found here.
Celebrate in Cincinnati
If you are in the Cincinnati area, make plans now to be part of "Miami Week in Cincinnati", a series of alumni events celebrating Miami, to be held in late September. More information on these events can be found here.
