NEW AT THE MIAMI UNIVERSITY ALUMNI ASSOCIATION |
Miami Day at the Cincinnati Reds Game
Be there when Miami University takes over Great American Ballpark on Sunday, April 20! The Reds will be taking on the Milwaukee Brewers and all Miami alumni, students, and faculty/staff are eligible to purchase tickets - including bleacher seats, terrace outfield seats, and infield box seats - at half price. You will enjoy special Miami appearances throughout the day, including the first pitch by President and Mrs. Hodge, performances by the Miami Men's Glee Club and Miami Band, and a visit from Miami's own Swoop. Tickets are limited and need to be ordered in advance, so order today!

Round-trip bus transportation to Miami-Reds Day at Great American Ballpark will be available from the Oxford and Middletown campuses for $14 per person. You will need to register in advance, as seats are filling up fast.

Spring brings an abundance of activities
Alumni in the Greater Cincinnati area are encouraged to join us when Miami University takes over Great American Ballpark on Sunday, April 20. All alumni, students, and faculty/staff are eligible to purchase tickets at deeply discounted rates when the Reds host the Milwaukee Brewers.
First pitch is scheduled for 1:15 p.m., but be there by 12:45 p.m. to enjoy special Miami appearances, including the first pitch being thrown out by President Hodge and Mrs. Hodge. Bus transportation is available from Miami's Oxford and Middletown campuses.

It is also time to start checking your mailbox for the 2008 Alumni Weekend Registration brochure. Alumni Weekend is the perfect opportunity to "Follow the Red Bricks Home" and gather with thousands of your fellow Miami alumni in celebrating your Miami ties. Global Rhythms Coming to Louisville
Saturday, April 26, 2008
Global Rhythms, an exhilarating evening of international music featuring more than 200 artists, is being held in the W.L. Lyons Brown Theatre in Louisville, Ky., at 7 p.m., Saturday, April 26.
The world music ensemble, which features colorful costumes, dances, diverse percussive traditions, and a 90-piece choir, has been invited to perform at venues around the world and has done more than 70 shows over the past 10 years. Among the cast are several students and faculty members from Miami University.

Barbara Jones named new VP for student affairs
Miami University has named Dr. Barbara Jones as the new vice president for student affairs, beginning August 1. Jones is now assistant chancellor for student affairs at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, a position she has held since 2000.
Miami mourns loss of Floyd Leonard, Chief of the Miami
Nation
Chief Floyd Leonard, Chief of the Miami Tribe of Oklahoma, and
friend to Miami University for decades, died Saturday, March
8, at the age of 82.
Miami residence halls go green clean
Last summer, as part of Miami's commitment to using environmentally friendly products on campus, building staff started using "green" cleaning products at McKee Hall, tying into McKee's environmental living-learning community. |
